John Zorn: Seven Sonnets [#9330]
Originally brought together in September 2015 to perform the Zorn “Bagatelles,” Julian Lage and Gyan Riley have become two of Zorn’s most trusted and soulful musical collaborators, having recorded over a dozen CDs of his compositions for acoustic guitars both in duo and in trio with Bill Frisell. “Seven Sonnets” is their sixth CD together as a duo and the music is a lovely series of compositions referencing early music, minimalism, contemporary classical, soundtracks, folk, jazz, and more. Two of the world’s most accomplished and acclaimed guitar virtuosos perform a beautiful book of original music inspired by the Sonnets of William Shakespeare. “Volume One” of Zorn’s musical Sonnets contains some of his loveliest and most intimate creations.

Evan Parker and John Zorn: Those Landings [#9331]
Friends and colleagues since the late 1970s, Evan Parker and John Zorn are two of contemporary music’s most uncompromising saxophone innovators, and here they collaborate on a surprising and long overdue studio project. Recorded in New York and Britain from 2025 to 2026 “Those Landings” is an achingly beautiful exploration of modern reed music with an ambient touch from two radical musical philosophers who use the saxophone as a sound source. Astonishing!

Jon Madof Trio: Netzach [#4063]
Mastermind of Zion80, Rashanim, and so much more, guitarist Jon Madof steps out with a dynamic power trio featuring two of his closest collaborators, Yoshie Fruchter and Nate Rappaport. With a heavier sound and a more orchestral produc-tion, these lyrical compositions provide a perfect springboard for Madof’s brilliant guitar pyrotechnics. “Netzach,” Jon’s eighth CD for Tzadik, is modern Jewish music at its raging best, a masterful blend of Jewish music, surf, and metal by this legendary twenty-year veteran of Radical Jewish Culture.
